Outside Dining Room

When the weather is nice (which it has been this week), we can eat just outside our room. It's very pleasant.

The View From Our Window

We are blessed to have beautiful sun shining through the window-lined wall of our room in the mornings. Here's a glimpse of what we see as we wake up. Although it's a neighborhood, there is this large field behind us.

Our new home

We're almost done moving in, but still have some organizing to do.
The couch on the left turns into our bed. On the right there is a wardrobe and dresser. We have access to the porch outside and share the kitchen and bathroom with an 80-year old Hungarian woman who has lived in Germany for many years.

Move day

Going to our new apartment via subway. We sure looked like overloaded tourists!

Sunshine and a room

The sun came out today! It looks like we've found a room to rent in the apartment of an elderly lady. We'll probably move in this weekend. It will be nice to unpack the suitcases ("Bertha" and "Bubba") after being in travel mode for nearly a month. In case you're curious, Bertha is a bright purple, and Bubba is a dark brown. That way we can spot them easily at airport baggage claims.

Rain, rain, rain

The rain continues. We both got completely drenched today. It seems like it has been raining for weeks. And the forecast? More rain for the rest of the week. : (

It wasn't worth a picture until we saw the river near where we were staying. We think there are usually paths under the tree that's sticking out of the water.

Starting work

This building is not the one I work in. I thought it was, so I took a picture of it before checking the address. Mine looks somewhat similar.

A temporary place to stay

New friends we made over the weekend let us stay in their beautiful apartment for a few days until we can find a place of our own.

Germany - our first day

We couldn't wait long to explore the beautiful countryside. Just a few hours after landing in Munich we went for a bike ride. (Thanks to our friends Dirk and Sigrid who lent us their bikes).

Packing up

With only a few weeks notice, we left our jobs, sold most of our belongings, and packed up the rest. Packing tape sure gets messy sometimes.
