Easter Weekend

We spent a lovely Easter with relatives just outside Toulouse. It was great time away from our normal routine. Taxes got filed, which was good. But the real fun came from participating in church activities, eating delicious meals, playing games, having ready Internet access and yes, even practicing French.

Our other housemate

She's a queen. She sits around and gets her beauty rest during the day--when she's not out for a walk or chasing balls. She loves to have her belly scratched, to watch people eat, and to go for walks. She even goes on vacation to the countryside! Ah, the joys of having faithful companion who provides hours on end of entertainment.

Persian New Year

A few weeks ago a Persian friend invited us to her home to celebrate the new year. Everything on the elaborately decorated table had meaning--representing something significant they hoped to have/obtain during the new year. Who would have thought we would be learning about Persia in France?

New Month New Class

We just completed our first week of the second month at this language school. It takes a little while to get used to new teachers and new classmates. French is progressing, perhaps more slowly that we would like, but progressing nonetheless.
